This perlite is sifted carefully and won't stir up any powder when moving it around, making it safer than regular powdery perlite. The small particles are bad for your health and can get stuck in your lungs.

Compared to vermiculite it retains less water and creates a more airy substrate. This is ideal for most houseplants except ones that prefer a moist soil like the alocasia, calathea & maranta plants.

FAQ

Är perlit rengjord?
Perlit är rengjord innan försäljning genom siktning. Rengöring tar bort de minsta och mest skadliga partiklarna.
Även om perlit är icke-toxisk, kan inandning av små partiklar och damm vara skadligt för dina luftvägar, så se till att bära en mask när du hanterar det.

Varför kommer perlit något fuktig?
Vi säljer vår perlit lätt fuktad för att minska dess damm. Observera att på grund av transport kan små dammpartiklar skapas från trycket och försiktighet bör fortfarande iakttas!

Vad är perlit gjort av?
Perlit kommer från vulkaniskt glas med hög fuktighet. Det återupphettades till 1200 grader Celsius för att expandera det 20 gånger. Den höga vattenhalten i perlit skapar ånga inuti stenen.
Detta får det att 'puffa upp' och expandera, ungefär som popcorn!

Origin of our Perlite

Vår Perlit bryts i Grekland, och transporteras sedan i sin opoppade form (perlit expanderar upp till 20 gånger sin volym med värme).

Här i Nederländerna värms perlit med gas för att bli sin slutliga luftiga och lätta form.
Även om användningen av gas inte är idealisk, varar Perlit mycket länge (år efter år!) om inte högt tryck appliceras.
På grund av dess hållbarhet tror vi att perlit erbjuder en bra lösning. Dessutom erbjuder det oöverträffad kvalitet för att hålla växter glada!

Not too much dust and good packaging

Sometimes there's a lot of dust in perlite bags, but it's not the case here. I forgot to mention in my other reviews that I really like the packaging (possibility to close it).
